offered by w3 JMailServer, we have created a brief list.

Protocols

Feature Brief description
POP3 The features using POP3 to retrieve mail are accessible ( like with many other mailservers ) by email-clients such as Outlook, Eudora and Netscape Mail.

SMTP The features using SMTP to send mail are accessible ( like with many other mailservers ) by email-clients such as Outlook, Eudora and Netscape Mail.

Configuration/Installation

Feature Brief description
"Virtual Filesystem" w3 JMailServer creates a "virtual filesystem", which represents the configuration and mailboxes being used. This gives you the possibility to easily configure virtually every setting there is using notepad!

Restarting IIS - unnecessary Make changes that take effect in Realtime, without reastarting your precious IIS every time.

Advanced easy-to-use maildrop technology The Maildrop-folders are presented as folders in the "virtual directory" of w3 JMailServer, where the maildrop account settings and messages are stored and easily accessible.

Other

Feature Brief description
If you can create a file... We have created a possibility to massmail with w3 JMailServer without having to pass through the slowing SMTP protocol by using the Maildropmonitor. The idea is, that if you can programmatically create a file in the maildrop directory on the server where w3 JMailServer is running, the maildropmonitor will detect the new file, parse it, and add it to the message send-queue.

DNS-resolver w3 JMailServer uses a very fast and flexible DNS-resolver, making w3 JMailServer an excellent choice for use in combination with firewalls.

Administrative Domains - Physical groups Administrative Domains is what we call the solution we have created for sorting domains into groups. This feature enables an administrator hosting several different domains, to delegate administrative capability to a customer. I.e. if we host www.company.com, and all of their mail-accounts, we can create new group for company, send access data to the administrator for company, thus giving him full access to handle all accounts belonging to company group.

Resource economic w3 JMailServer uses a minimum amount of resources, and still performs extremely well!
